Land Use Planning
Situated entirely in Ontario’s Greenbelt and with large parts protected by Niagara Escarpment and Oak Ridges Moraine legislation, King Township has a particularly important role in regulating land use to conserve the environment.
CCKT has advocated on behalf of the preservation of the town’s Natural Heritage Systems in front of Council and various government bodies for decades. Our goal is always to preserve the land which has deep roots in farming and a rural way of life. However, with vast tracks of pristine land, King is a rich target for developers who would like to build more residential and commercial buildings in a convenient location.
CCKT is committed to protecting the land and alerting the community about important land use planning matters. We advocate for an environmentally responsible vision for growth that promotes a healthy community now and for generations to come.
