King Township Intensification

The Provincial Growth Plan sets out a strategy to create more compact communities by encouraging growth within existing urban boundaries where servicing already exists as the costs of sprawling growth places pressure on provincial, regional and municipal infrastructure. The Places to Grow plan encourages municipalities to make better use of urban lands. For rural areas the growth plan supports and protects the rural economy as being vital to the economic well-being of our small towns and villages. The more intensive urban growth is directed away from rural areas and to towns and cities with existing infrastructure and transit services.
